   I think that one significant step forward in this direction would be some ability to define your own new variables for use in the expressions for dependent sources. For instance, to model a rechargeable battery in a dependent source, I sort of need to keep an ampere-seconds accumulator to know how much charge has been returned or discharged from the battery so I can write the expression for the voltage across the battery.
